Brand Check example
This is a synthetic demonstration for a fictional brand. It shows how a human-reviewed marketplace assessment can move from a crawler signal to a recorded next step. It is not a client result, legal opinion, or promise that a marketplace will remove anything.
Fictional brand / Northstar Home
Review scope: two fictional marketplaces, twelve candidate listings, and three examples selected for human review.
From signal to review
The crawler points to the listing and the place where a signal appears. A human then separates a useful lead from a fact that is too weak, incomplete, or legally different from the initial impression.
| Listing | Observed location | Human classification | Recorded next step |
|---|---|---|---|
| 01Synthetic listing A-104Example Market A | Brand name in title; matching mark visible in the main product image | Trademark use - confirm right, territory, and authorizationHuman review: candidate for a supported request | Confirm the right-holder record and capture the listing evidence |
| 02Synthetic listing A-118Example Market A | Compatibility wording in the title; no independent brand-origin claim | Not enough on its own to treat as an infringement signalHuman review: do not submit on this signal alone | Keep as context only or review alongside stronger evidence |
| 03Synthetic listing B-207Example Market B | Similar product image and seller pattern after a prior removal event | Repeat-activity signal; separate proof from inferenceHuman review: investigate relationship before escalation | Compare the seller, listing history, and marketplace response record |
What the work leaves behind
The listings in scope, their marketplace, seller, URL, and the location of the observed signal.
A human-reviewed view of the possible right, platform route, and facts that still need confirmation.
The links, captures, right-holder material, and limits of what the available information can show.
For paid work: what was submitted, what the marketplace or brand replied, and the recorded next step.
Boundaries of the example
A free Brand Check is an initial view and does not submit or manage removal requests. In paid work, a person verifies the findings, prepares supported requests, manages the conversation with the marketplace and brand, and records the response.
The marketplace makes the final decision. A signal is not proof of infringement, and this synthetic material contains no client data or real enforcement outcome.
